Suspending all International flights for travelers (except in exceptional cases) temporarily for one week, which can be extended for another week.
Foreign flights currently in the territory of the Kingdom are allowed to leave.
  • The above-mentioned excludes Cargo flights.
  • These instructions will be reviewed and updated in light of the developments related to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
  • This circular will take effect from 00:00 (Midnight), On Monday 21 December 2020.

Temporary precautionary measures for the Coronavirus

21 March 2020
  • Suspending all domestic flights in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia for 14 days starting from Saturday 6:00 AM on 21 March 2020

15 March 2020
  • Suspending all international flights from/to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia airports for two weeks starting Sunday 11:00 AM on 15 March 2020

12 March 2020
  • Suspension of the travel permissions for Saudi citizens and residents living currently in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the following countries: (India, Pakistan and Sudan).
  • Suspension arrival of all passengers from any one the following countries airports (India, Pakistan and Sudan) to any one of the kingdoms of Saudi Arabia airports, except for blights intending to return the citizens of the kingdom back or returning the citizens of the above-mentioned countries back to their countries, cargo flights and flights intending to carry Health practitioners who have Exit and Re-Entry visas and the new contracts for health practitioners that Work for public or private sectors.
  • A time limit of (72) hours is given to citizen of the Kingdom and current residents holding valid Iqama to return to the Kingdom.
  • Suspension of all flights to and from the countries mentioned in item (1), EU countries and Switzerland temporarily with taking in consideration the exception in items (2) and (3) in the instructions.

09 March 2020
  • Suspending the travel permissions for Saudi citizens and residents living currently in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the following countries: (UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Italy and Korea).
  • Suspending the arrival of all passengers from any one of the following countries: (Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Italy, and Korea) to any of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia airports or any passenger who have been in any of the mentioned countries above in last (14) days prior to his arrival to the Kingdom.

  • All carriers must sure that any passenger who is arriving from or through any of the airports of the Republic of Egypt has a complete medical examination (PCR) confirming that he is free of Corona Virus (COVID-19) and it must be issued within (24) hours before boarding of the passenger to the aircraft by one of the specified and approved laboratories by the embassy of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Cairo.
  • Passengers arriving from or through any the airport s of the following countries: (United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Bahrain, Kuwait) are only allowed to enter the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through one of the airports: (King Khalid International airport, King Abdulaziz International airport, King Fahad International airport).

  • Suspending the entry of GCC countries citizens to the cities of Makkah and Madinah temporarily. Except for the GCC countries citizens who have a permit for that which can be obtained through the website of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

27 February 2020
  • Suspending entry to the Kingdom for the purpose of Umrah and visiting the Prophet's Mosque temporarily.
  • Entry to the Kingdom with a tourist visa from countries with confirmed Coronavirus outbreaks, according to criteria established by Saudi health authorities, is suspended.
  • The use of national identity cards (instead of passports) for travel to and from the Kingdom is suspended. Exceptions will be allowed for Saudi nationals who left Saudi Arabia by using their national identity cards, or citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council countries wishing to return from Saudi Arabia after entering with their national identity cards.
  • Suspending Tourism visa into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for only Passengers those coming from People's republic of China which includes (Chinese Taiwan , Hong Kong and Macao) as well as Iran, Italy, Korea (Rep.), Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Philippines, Singapore, India, Lebanon, Syria, Yamen, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Somalia and Vietnam).
  • Passengers who have been in People's Republic of China, which includes (Chinese Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao), as well as Iran are not allowed to enter Saudi Arabia until 14 day later from their exit from these two countries.
  • Any transit passenger who had been in one of the two countries mentioned in the item 4 of this circular, are not allowed to enter Saudi Arabia until 14 day later from their exit from these two countries.
  • Any transfer passenger who had been in one of the countries mentioned in the item 4 of this circular, are not allowed to enter Saudi Arabia until 14 day later from their exit from these two countries.
