flynas signs a partnership agreement with the Singaporean company SATS

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, 08 Aug 2021:

This partnership will enable both parties to benefit from SATS' advanced cargo facilities to enhance flynas' strategy and position in the air cargo field and increase its market share.

flynas, the leading low-cost airline in the Middle East, and the Singaporean SATS Company Ltd. signed a partnership agreement under which the Singaporean company will undertake ground handling duties at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

SATS Ltd. is an Asian leading provider of Food Solutions and Gateway Services as it was the first foreign company to win a shipping concession in Saudi Arabia in 2017, and The company completed the building of its first cargo terminal in 2018.

Equipped with a dedicated cold-chain facility, the cargo terminal can handle 150,000 tons of cargo.

In January 2020, SATS earned the second cargo concession in Saudi Arabia to build a second cargo terminal in Riyadh, achieved its second cargo concession agreement with Saudi Arabia, effectively improving seamless cargo connectivity in the eastern region for its customers in Saudi Arabia.

The partnership agreement will contribute to effectively enhancing the flynas air cargo connection in Dammam and Riyadh and will allow flynas to benefit from the capabilities of SATS in the field of cargo, develop flynas' strategy and enhance its position in the field of air cargo.

Commenting on the partnership, flynas CEO Bander Almohanna stated, commenting on the agreement, flynas' CEO Mr. Bander AlMohanna stated that this step aligns the strategy set by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) which empowers the Kingdom’s air cargo industry (or air freight industry) and enhances its capabilities by increasing its shipping capacity which has reached more than 4.5 tons.

Almohanna concluded “As part of our expansion strategy, flynas takes pride in collaborating with SATS, a major leader in its field, to boost the range of services offered to our clients and contribute to the growth of the Kingdom’s economy.” He further indicated, “We appreciate the efforts made by SATS to make this tremendous partnership possible, and we believe it will be a path towards further success for both companies and a bright future.”
