flynas, the leading low-cost airline in the world and the best LCC in the Middle East, celebrated the launch of its first direct flights between Riyadh and Cochin, India, during a ceremony held at King Khalid International Airport on September 2, in the presence of representatives from flynas and Riyadh Airports Company.

The launch ceremony included welcoming passengers aboard the inaugural flight with gifts, marking the start of the new service, through which flynas operates three direct weekly flights between Riyadh and Cochin, enhancing travel options for passengers and supporting travel and air connectivity between Saudi Arabia and India.

Located in the southern Indian state of Kerala, Cochin is one of the country’s prominent coastal and commercial cities. The launch of direct flights to the city is part of flynas’ expansion in the Indian market and efforts to strengthen its international destination network, supporting travel, tourism and economic exchange between the two countries.

With the addition of the Riyadh-Cochin flights, flynas operates a total of 39 weekly flights between Saudi Arabia and India, with services from Riyadh to six Indian cities: Delhi, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Kozhikode, Mumbai and Cochin, in addition to direct weekly flights between Dammam and Lucknow.

The addition of direct flights between Riyadh and Cochin comes as part of flynas’ strategic growth and expansion plan “We Connect the World to the Kingdom”, in parallel with the objectives of the National Civil Aviation Strategy to enable national carriers to contribute to connecting the Kingdom with 250 international destinations, accommodate 330 million passengers and welcome 150 million tourists annually by 2030, as well as the objectives of the Pilgrim Experience Program to facilitate access to the Two Holy Mosques.
