Frequently Asked Questions

Can I rebook or cancel a Rail & Fly ticket with flynas?

A Rail & Fly ticket may be rebooked, cancelled, or transferred only under certain conditions. If you are unsure, please contact our call centre. It is not possible to change a name on a flight or Rail & Fly booking over the phone.

I would like to travel to the airport the day before my flight or return the day after arrival. Is this possible?

Yes. With a valid Rail & Fly ticket, you may travel on the day of or the day before departure, as well as on the day of or the day after arrival. However, you must travel on the day selected when redeeming your Rail & Fly voucher code.

When is the earliest I can redeem my voucher code?

You can redeem your voucher code for a train ticket directly after booking your flight — but no more than 180 days before the day of your flight. Other restrictions may apply depending on Deutsche Bahn scheduling. We recommend redeeming your voucher code as early as possible.

The train I want is not displayed — why?

Deutsche Bahn may restrict bookings on certain long-distance trains predicted to experience high demand to avoid overbooking. These trains are removed from sale across all DB channels and will not appear in the Rail & Fly booking portal.

What should I do if I cannot show my Rail & Fly ticket on the train?

If you cannot present your ticket, inform the train staff immediately and identify yourself as a Rail & Fly traveller. You will be issued a temporary ticket and have 14 days to provide proof of your valid Rail & Fly entitlement. Please do not purchase a new ticket — additional tickets are non-refundable.

What should I do if there is a problem redeeming my voucher code?

In the event of a technical or redemption issue, please contact the Flynas call centre for assistance.

Does my Rail & Fly ticket include a seat reservation?

First-class Rail & Fly tickets include a complimentary seat reservation, shown on your ticket. Second-class travellers can add a seat reservation while redeeming the voucher code.

What time should I arrive at the airport when flying with flynas?

To ensure a smooth connection, choose a train that arrives at the airport at least two hours before your flight departure. Flynas cannot assume responsibility for missed flights caused by train or bus delays. Passengers are responsible for arriving on time for check-in.

Which documents must I present on the train?

Please carry the following during your journey:

  • Your Rail & Fly ticket
  • Your Flynas booking confirmation
  • A valid passport or photo ID

Keep your ticket with you until the end of your journey, as it may be inspected multiple times.

I can’t find my Rail & Fly ticket. What should I do?

If you lose your Rail & Fly ticket, log in to the Rail & Fly portal and download it again any time up to the day of travel.

How many voucher codes will I receive?

You will receive one voucher code per person and per journey. For example, if two passengers book a round trip, you will receive four voucher codes in total.

How do I book Rail & Fly with flynas?

Rail & Fly tickets can only be booked in combination with an international Flynas flight on flynas.com or in the Flynas app. Simply select the Rail & Fly option under “Extras” when booking your flight.

A specific train is listed on my ticket — can I take another train?

Yes. Your Rail & Fly ticket is flexible for the selected route on the day of travel. It is not tied to a specific train.

Can I redeem multiple voucher codes at the same time, such as for a group?

Yes. Up to five voucher codes can be redeemed together to create a group Rail & Fly ticket. Alternatively, each traveller may redeem their code individually to receive separate tickets. Groups larger than five must be split into smaller groups of up to five travellers each. Travellers departing from different stations or on different trains must redeem their codes separately.
