Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - August 1, 2026: flynas, the leading low-cost airline in the world and the best LCC in the Middle East, celebrated the launch of its first direct flights between Riyadh and Aleppo, Syria, in a move that strengthens its international route network and supports air connectivity, in line with national objectives for the tourism and aviation sectors and Saudi Vision 2030.

The launch ceremony was held at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on August 1, in the presence of Minister Plenipotentiary and Chargé d’Affaires of the Syrian Embassy in the Kingdom, Mohsen Mahbash, as well as representatives from flynas and Riyadh Airports Company. Passengers departing on the inaugural flight were presented with commemorative gifts, and Representatives from flynas and Aleppo International Airport also welcomed the flight upon its arrival in Aleppo.

flynas will operate two direct weekly flights between Riyadh and Aleppo, providing travelers with flexible travel options and meeting the growing demand for travel between the two countries, after becoming the first Saudi carrier to resume flights to Damascus in June of last year. This brings the total number of flights operated by flynas between Saudi Arabia and Syria to 26 flights per week, as the airline operates 14 weekly flights between Riyadh and the Syrian capital, Damascus, at a rate of two flights per day, in addition to seven weekly flights between Jeddah and Damascus, with one direct flight per day, alongside three direct weekly flights between Dammam and Damascus.

Adding flights between Riyadh and Aleppo is in line with flynas growth and expansion plan, launched under the title “We Connect the World to the Kingdom”, and in parallel with the objectives of the National Civil Aviation Strategy to enable national air carriers to contribute to connecting KSA with 250 International destinations and to accommodate 330 million passengers and to host 150 million tourists annually by 2030, and the objectives of the Pilgrims Experience Program (PEP) to facilitate access to the Two Holy Mosques.
