Antalya: Beaches, History, and Mediterranean Charm

A perfect start for a perfect summer holiday, Antalya boasts an approximate 400-mile coastline with more than 200 Blue-Flag beaches.

Lara Beach is a popular, family-friendly beach with soft, golden sands and shallow waters. Phaselis Beach is a hidden gem that lies within an archaeological site and is ideal for snorkeling. Tucked away between towering cliffs, Kaputaş Beach, which is on the way to Kaş, is a breathtaking cove well worth seeing.

Kaleiçi Old Town defines the historic core of Antalya. It has well-preserved Roman, Byzantine, and Seljuk ruins, including an old Roman harbor, the famed Hadrian’s Gate, and the gorgeous marina.

Other spectacular sights in Antalya include the Düden Waterfalls, with the Lower Düden crashing over the cliffs into the Mediterranean Sea.

Your next stop is the enchanting Kaş, an approximate 3-hour drive from Antalya.

Kaş: Bohemian Authenticity and Laid-Back Atmosphere

Unlike many of the high-traffic tourist resorts along the Turquoise Coast, Kaş reserved its old-world, fishing village charm. It has a relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere and is widely known for its crystal-clear waters.

The scuba diving here is simply exquisite. For those who enjoy adrenaline-filled adventure, there’s canyoning — hiking, swimming, and abseiling through mountain gorges. This scenic village also has art galleries, relaxed rooftop restaurants, and interesting artisan boutiques.

From Kaş, it’s on to Fethiye, but not before you spend some time in the amazing Ölüdeniz, a little resort village about eight miles from Fethiye.

Ölüdeniz: The Blue Lagoon and World-Famous Paragliding

A 2-hour drive from Kaş gets you to Ölüdeniz, which is simply stunning. Its Blue Lagoon, a natural reserve, has the deepest blue waters bordered by the Mediterranean’s typical turquoise surf — an incredible sight! A sandbar separates it from the main beachfront, so the waters are safe and wave-free, perfect for swimming.

This village is also famous for its tandem paragliding from Mount Babadağ. Experience a view like none other from a height of 6,400 feet!

Fethiye, a short 20-minute drive from Ölüdeniz, is just around the corner.
