FLYNAS SIGNS COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH SAUDI COMMISSION FOR TOURISM AND ANTIQUITIES
Under auspices of HRH Prince Sultan Bin Salman at 8th Travel and Tourism Investment Exhibtion
RIYADH, 1 April 2015 – Under the auspices of His Royal Highness Prince Sultan Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz, President of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities, national carrier flynas signed a cooperation agreement with the SCTA.
The agreement, signed by the national airline and the government’s tourism regulator at the Eighth Travel and Tourism Investment Exhibition in Riyadh between 29 March and 3 April, aims to develop investment in national tourism and culture.
On flynas’ behalf, the agreement was signed by Bandar Al-Mohanna, Chief Executive Officer of NAS Holding, which Dr. Walid Bin Mohammed Al-Humaidi, Vice President of the SCTA for regional tourism and antiquities, signed for his organization.
“This agreement is an embodiment of flynas’ vision as a national carrier whose activities are integral with those of the Kingdom’s major institutions, chief among which is the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities, the role of which in developing the Kingdom’s tourism industry is inextricable from the airline industry,” said Al Mohanna.
“We at flynas believe in the vital role of tourism in the economy, because it is a promising sector that can greatly contribute to diversifying the Kingdom’s economy.
The agreement is part of a comprehensive, nationwide development program by the SCTA, which encompasses cooperation with partners to serve its objectives, establishing priority, and expediting tourism development projects and programs that would transform the national tourism industry and promote the country’s culture and investment in the sector.
flynas looks forward to be an effective partner in developing national tourism through coordination and cooperation with concerned government parties.
Expressing their desire to expand cooperation between them on that front, the two sides formed a joint working team to explore the possibilities of cooperation on domestic flights, national and international fairs, tourist visits, statistics, festivals, and the highlighting of local cultures through print and audiovisual media. The "partnership even extends to handcrafts, training, and an online magazine which flynas will display on its domestic and international flights.
