Riyadh, June 2014: flynas, Saudi Arabia’s national carrier, has announced the addition of 29,520 seats on board its 540 flights this coming Ramadan with an aim to accommodate the increasing traffic on its flights to Jeddah. flynas is also providing 43,000 meals on 939 domestic and international flights during the Holy Month, improving the comfort of its passengers and ensuring excellent value for money.

Commenting on behalf of flynas, Wael Al Sarhan, Director of Marketing and Communication, stated that “flynas is now capable of operating a large number of flights during peak season.  This was possible after our recent fleet expansion to 27 aircraft, making it much easier and convenient for travelers visiting Makkah to perform Umrah, using Jeddah as a base to fly in to on board flynas.”

Al Sarhan added, “The average number of flights from Riyadh to Jeddah before Ramadan reached 9 flights per day with a capacity of 1,467 seats, which will increase to 14 daily flights at a capacity of 2,296 seats during the Holy Month of Ramadan. Regarding the Dammam-Jeddah route, we were operating 3 daily flights with a capacity of 429 seats, however this will increase to 4 flights per day during the Holy Month.”

Al Sarhan explained that flynas is encouraging its passengers this summer to head to the new destinations which have been added to flynas’ network as part of its Global Flights Program.  These new destinations include London, Manchester, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta and Casablanca, while as part of the existing program flynas will be operating its scheduled flights to Dubai, Sharm El Sheikh and daily flights to Cairo.

flynas is operating a fleet of 27 aircraft which are all equipped with a Business Class Cabin.  This launch and flynas’ new identity and service upgrading will enable it to achieve additional growth as part of its expansion plans.  The airline is adding more key destinations on local, regional, and international networks, which comprises a key part of the airline’s growth strategy that aims to transport 20 million passengers a year by 2020.
