Kingdom’s national carrier will sponsor all the activities of Prince Salman Center for Disability Research for 5 years

Riyadh, October 2014: flynas, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, sponsored the 4th International Conference on Disability & Rehabilitation, which took place at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Riyadh on 19-21 October 2014.  flynas also participated in the exhibition which was held along with the conference.

Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, the conference was organized in collaboration with Prince Salman Center for Disability Research, various government entities and other organizations.

flynas also served as Official Carrier for the conference and announced that it will support Prince Salman Center for Disability Research by sponsoring all its future activities for 5 years.

flynas was honored to receive a recognition presented by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia and Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

The recognition ceremony was attended by Mr. Sulaiman Al Hamdan, Group CEO of NAS Holding, of which flynas is a member company, who said: “As a Saudi national carrier, sponsorship of the conference is part of flynas’s commitment towards the Kingdom and the public, especially towards people with disabilities, a segment of the population that is of great importance within our society. Therefore, we are delighted flynas has been selected to serve as Official Aviation Carrier for the Prince Salman Center for Disability Research.” 

Adding his comments, Mr. Wael Al-Sarhan, Director of Marketing & Communication at NAS Holding, said: “flynas continues to sponsor social activities as part of its CSR program which successfully supports different categories of society that are important to all of us. Regarding this current activity, we have a strong belief in the role of this conference through our strategic partnership with Prince Salman Center for Disability Research, we aim to support this conference and all other activities in this field.”

Adding his comments, Dr. Sultan bin Turki Al-Sudairy, Executive Director of the Prince Salman Center for Disability Research, said that through this conference the Center hopes to highlight the leading role played by Saudi Arabia in serving the cause of disability and persons with disabilities, starting with reviewing the reality of scientific research in the field of Disability and Rehabilitation, right through to the root culture of scientific research locally, regionally and globally. In addition, the Center aims to raise community awareness of Disability Research and the extent of its importance in improving the situation of people with disabilities and integrate them into their communities.

Dr. Sultan went on to say: “We are very appreciative of  flynas’ initiative in this area and its pledge to cover the Center’s air transportation needs, which provides great support for us and our mission which is to alleviate the situation of people with disabilities.”

flynas is a leading practitioner of corporate social responsibility and its other CSR activities include supporting the Disabled Children’s Association and the SANAD Association that cares for children with cancer.
