HRH Princess Adela bint Abdullah lauds the national carrier’s role in supporting children with cancer and their families
Riyadh, January 2014: flynas, Saudi Arabia’s National Carrier, has signed an official agreement with SANAD Children’s Cancer Charity, which is under the patronage of HRH Princess Adela bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of SANAD Children’s Charity Organization, whereby flynas will support the charity through special initiatives including free tickets for the children and their families.
In addition, flynas will sponsor events organized by SANAD in hospitals for the purpose of boosting the children’s morale and bringing happiness and joy into their lives. The airline will also support media campaigns to create greater awareness of the charitable work done by SANAD and encourage the community to participate in their initiatives.
The agreement was signed at a press conference held Thursday February 6 at the headquarters of SANAD Children’s Cancer Charity attended by NAS Group CEO, Mr. Sulaiman Al Hamdan.
Lauding the efforts of flynas in supporting the Saudi community through social responsibility programs, HRH Princess Adela bint Abdullah noted that this is the third year of cooperation between flynas and SANAD, adding that this year’s partnership features a new vision and will see more extensive engagement in the various campaigns rolled out by the charity organization.
Her Royal Highness went on to underscore the importance of flynas’ role in supporting SANAD’s efforts to give hope to each child suffering from cancer by creating an environment based on encouragement and fulfilling the needs of the children and their families throughout the treatment period until recovery.
The date of the announcement was selected to highlight Children’s Cancer World Day on the 15th of February on which SANAD will launch an extensive campaign with flynas as the Diamond sponsor.
During the press conference, Mr. Sulaiman Al Hamdan expressed his happiness that flynas is supporting SANAD since it is one of the leading charity organizations that cares for children suffering from cancer, stating that the airline is looking forward to participating in the organization’s kingdom-wide programs and initiatives under the patronage of HRH Princess Adela bint Abdullah whose tireless efforts help to alleviate the psychological and social effects of cancer on the children and their families.
Al Hamdan explained, “This agreement comes in line with flynas’ commitment as Saudi Arabia’s national carrier to make an effective contribution to the community through social responsibility programs and we are currently getting ready to launch key initiatives with several charity organizations during the next period.”
Since its launch in 2007, flynas has carried more than 15 million passengers on 140,000 flights, with the highest rate of passengers growth recorded in 2013 by carrying 3.3 Million Passengers and launching variety of services along with a new modern identity. flynas has a young fleet consists of 27 aircrafts with Business and Economy class services. The recent Services development in flynas has given the capability for further growth as the airline continues to expand by adding more and more key destinations to its local, regional and international route map.
